The warm interior is noticeable. I have a gloss-lined pendant in the next room and this one is much kinder.

Why it is made this way
The inside of a shade matters more than the outside. This one is painted a warm off-white rather than gloss white, which softens the reflected light and stops the hot spot you get from a mirrored interior. The dome is deliberately shallow at 260mm so that at a 900mm drop the bulb is just concealed from someone seated — any deeper and the pool of light narrows to something unusable over a table.
