Why it is made this way
A cylinder pendant is a directional lamp pretending to be decorative, and most of them fail as both by using a white liner that scatters the beam into a wash. The brass reflector here is specified for its warmth and its specularity: it holds the beam at about 40° and gives the spill a warm edge instead of a grey one. The tubes are extruded rather than rolled so the wall stays a constant 2mm and the cut ends need no reinforcing ring, which is what lets them stay this narrow.
